New iPads are Coming 👀
and guess who's going to the Apple Event...
New iPads are going to be with us in literally a couple of days. Apple have announced the ‘Let Loose’ event which is very clearly going to be iPad focused (you’ve seen the pencil in the teaser, right?)
Things that are pretty much confirmed are :
• New OLED screens
• New 13” size for the Pro, and a bigger 12.9” for the Air
• Apple Pencil 3 & Magic Keyboard 2
• Spec bumps to the M3 or M4 chip (!)
Typically, I expect they’ll have a bit of a design upgrade too, which is always nice to see, oh and I hear the camera is moving to landscape mode on the front (yay!). I’m excited for these, but I do hope there is more at work here than just a spec bump. Personally, I’d love to see the following; an iPad Mini refresh (I’ll take anything at this point!), iPadOS getting a lot more attention, 128GB across the board for starting storage, and my secret hope would be an official iPad stand, but I think that’s unlikely!
I’m excited for these updates regardless though, and I must admit - I’ve stopped using my iPad as much as I used since picking up up the MacBook Air. The combination of power, portability and battery life were all things I loved my iPad for and that’s now here on the Mac. Not to mention the MacBook Air is a smaller package than an iPad 12.9 with a keyboard! Madness.
Anyway, you should keep a big eye on my socials this week as I’m going to the Apple Event in London for the announcement!
In case you somehow missed it I finally made my gaming setup and living room tour! This is something I’ve wanted to do for ages and I finally did, it was fun to film and produce so I hope you enjoyed it!
What’s new with Kiroku?
Rachel (@egg.graphics) our designer in chief has broken her ankle! That means I’m currently packing all your orders so I apologise in advance for the messy tape work, I have sausages for fingers! That aside, we have been working on some new official Byte Review merchandise and will be releasing it soon. We’re just sorting out the last few things to make it extra special. It’ll be worth the wait - promise! I did tease it a little recently, so if you did see it then you know what’s coming 👀
Creator Spotlight
📸 Teo Crawford - If you like film photography and Japan, well this one is for you. I can’t believe I’m new to Teo’s content but it’s simply wonderful, it’s super relaxing to watch and some of the videos are really long too, which is fantastic to have on while you’re working. I highly recommend this video to get started with.
🍡 __tree_13 - Analog culture inspired anime artist that I’ve been enjoying a lot lately. Tree’s work is crazy colourful and bursting with life, I can’t overstate how much I love this style of work. I already have some posters on order which I can’t wait to arrive!
🏎️ sou_draws - If you got swept up into the F1 craze like I did (darn Netflix!) then you’ll love Sou’s work. Amazing drawings of a lot of the drivers with some retro ones thrown in for good measure. This art of Leclerc for the Japanese GP is particularly cool, Akira vibes all over it.
I’m so excited to go to the Apple Event this week. I’ve had it written down as a goal for a few years now, so to be featured in one (the M3 MacBook Air launch) and now going this next one feels like a little moment in my creator career. Anyway, see you all in a video soon!

In all good vibes what I like of the refresh is that older models get a price cut. I have been using my Ipad pro for 7 years and I know that if I get a last update model I will be able to use it for everything I need for a long time. And I take the price cut as an opportunity to get the bigger memory one
